Terms of service
1. About These Terms
Welcome to SG Wrought Iron.
These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and any orders placed through our online store. Throughout these Terms, “SG Wrought Iron”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the business operating this website and supplying the products purchased from it.
By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and Delivery Information.
Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
2. About SG Wrought Iron

3. Using Our Website
You may use this website for lawful personal or business purposes.
You must not misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, introduce viruses or malicious software, interfere with its operation, misuse another person's information, or use the website in a way that infringes our rights or the rights of another person.
If you create a customer account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
We may restrict or suspend access where we reasonably believe the website is being misused or these Terms have been materially breached.
4. Product Information
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, dimensions, prices and images displayed on our website are accurate.
Because many of our products are wrought iron and may involve hand-finished or traditional manufacturing processes, minor variations in texture, surface appearance, detailing or finish may occur. These natural variations do not necessarily indicate a defect.
Product colours can also appear slightly different depending on the screen, device or lighting used to view them.
Where exact dimensions, compatibility or fitting information are important to your project, please review the relevant product information carefully before ordering or contact us for guidance.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet applicable legal requirements. UK consumer law requires goods supplied under consumer contracts to meet statutory standards including satisfactory quality and conformity with their description.
5. Orders
When you submit an order through our website, you are offering to purchase the products shown in your basket.
You will normally receive an order acknowledgement after checkout. This confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that every aspect of the order has been accepted or can be fulfilled.
We may contact you if we need to confirm measurements, product options, delivery information or other details before processing your order.
For standard products, acceptance normally takes place when we confirm that your order is being processed or dispatched. For made-to-measure or customised products, acceptance may occur when we confirm the order and begin preparing or manufacturing the product to your specification.
We may decline or cancel an order where, for example, a product is unavailable, there is an obvious pricing or description error, payment cannot be authorised, delivery cannot reasonably be made to the requested location, or information needed to fulfil the order has not been provided.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, any amount due back to you will be refunded.
6. Measurements and Customer-Supplied Information
You are responsible for checking measurements and product selections before placing an order.
Where you provide us with dimensions, configurations, finishes or other specifications, we will normally manufacture or prepare the product using the information you provide.
Please use our Measuring Guide and product-specific information where available and double-check measurements before submitting a made-to-measure or cut-to-size order.
If you are uncertain about the measurements or configuration required, please contact us before ordering.
We are not responsible for an item being unsuitable solely because measurements or specifications supplied by the customer were incorrect, except where the issue results from an error on our part or where applicable law provides otherwise.
7. Made-to-Measure, Cut-to-Size and Custom Products
Some SG Wrought Iron products can be manufactured, altered, cut or otherwise prepared to suit specific customer requirements.
Once work has begun on a genuinely made-to-measure, personalised or customer-specific product, we may be unable to change or cancel the order.
The standard statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not normally apply to goods that are made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised. This does not affect your rights if the product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
Please therefore check all dimensions, selections and specifications carefully before placing a customised order.
8. Prices and Payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) unless otherwise stated.
Any applicable taxes will be included or displayed as required. Delivery charges, where applicable, will be shown or calculated before you complete your purchase.
UK online sellers are required to provide customers with the total price, or explain how it will be calculated, together with applicable delivery costs before the order is completed.
Prices and promotions may change from time to time, but changes will not normally affect orders that we have already accepted.
Payment must be authorised before an order can be processed.
Discount codes and promotional offers may be subject to additional conditions and may not be combined unless expressly stated.
9. Delivery
We use delivery services appropriate to the size, weight and type of product ordered.
Smaller products and accessories may be sent differently from longer, heavier or oversized wrought iron products. Some products require specialist packaging or courier arrangements.
Most standard orders are prepared for dispatch within a few working days, although made-to-measure, customised and larger orders may require additional preparation time.
Delivery dates and times provided by us or by a courier are estimates unless we expressly confirm otherwise.
Please ensure that the delivery address supplied at checkout is complete and accurate.
Where we arrange delivery to a consumer, the goods normally remain our responsibility until they come into your physical possession, or the physical possession of a person you have identified to receive them.
Further information is available on our Delivery Information page.
10. Delivery Delays
We will take reasonable steps to prepare and dispatch orders within the timescales communicated to you.
Occasionally, delivery can be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, courier delays, customs procedures, industrial action or other exceptional events.
If we become aware of a significant delay affecting your order, we will take reasonable steps to keep you informed.
Nothing in this section removes any delivery rights available to you under applicable consumer law.
11. International and Remote-Area Delivery
Delivery to some remote UK locations or overseas destinations may require a separate quotation or different delivery arrangements because of the dimensions and weight of wrought iron products.
If delivery cannot be calculated automatically for your location, please contact us before ordering.
For international deliveries, the customer may be responsible for local customs duties, import taxes or similar charges imposed by the destination country where applicable. Any such charges are separate from the amount charged by SG Wrought Iron unless expressly stated otherwise.
12. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Returns, cancellations and refunds are handled in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy and your statutory rights.
For most standard products purchased online, UK consumers generally have a statutory right to tell the seller that they wish to cancel within 14 days after receiving the goods, followed by a further period in which to return them. Certain products, including genuinely personalised or custom-made goods, are excluded from the ordinary change-of-mind cancellation right.
Where our Returns & Refunds Policy provides a longer voluntary return period for eligible standard products, that additional policy applies alongside your statutory rights.
Please contact us before returning an item so that we can provide the appropriate instructions, particularly for long, heavy or oversized products.
Products purchased at a reduced or sale price retain the same statutory rights as products purchased at full price.
13. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Products
Please inspect your order after delivery.
If a product arrives damaged, appears faulty or is not the item you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide your order details.
Where appropriate, we may ask you to provide photographs of the product and packaging so that we can assess the issue and arrange the appropriate next step.
Your rights in relation to faulty, damaged or incorrectly described goods are not restricted by these Terms or by our voluntary returns policy. Consumer contract terms cannot lawfully remove the statutory protections applying to goods.
14. Installation and Fixings
Different SG Wrought Iron products may require different installation methods depending on the product, mounting surface, dimensions, intended use and expected load.
Any general installation information provided on our website is intended as guidance and should be read alongside product-specific instructions.
You are responsible for ensuring that suitable fixings and an appropriate installation method are used for the surface and application concerned.
For installations involving structural support, safety-critical products, gates, railings, handrails or where you are uncertain about the appropriate installation method, we recommend using a suitably experienced or qualified installer.
We are not responsible for damage caused solely by incorrect installation, unsuitable fixings, misuse or failure to follow appropriate fitting instructions, except where the law requires otherwise.
15. Intellectual Property
The content of this website, including our branding, product photographs, text, graphics, designs, guides, logos and other original material, belongs to SG Wrought Iron or is used by us with permission.
You may use the website for normal browsing and purchasing purposes.
You must not reproduce, republish, distribute, commercially exploit or substantially copy our website content without our prior permission, except where permitted by law.
Third-party trademarks and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
16. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use services supplied by third parties, including payment providers, couriers and technology providers.
Third-party websites operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for content or services provided independently by third parties merely because our website links to them.
Our online store is powered by Shopify. Shopify provides the ecommerce technology used to operate the store, but purchases of SG Wrought Iron products are transactions between you and SG Wrought Iron.
17. Privacy and Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information may also be processed by service providers required to operate our website, process payments, fulfil orders and provide delivery services.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about how personal data is collected, used, shared and protected.
18. Website Availability and Errors
We aim to keep our website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee that it will always operate without interruption or technical error.
From time to time, product information, prices, availability or other content may contain an obvious error.
Where we identify an error, we may correct the information and, where necessary, contact you regarding an affected order.
We will not use this provision to remove or limit rights that consumers have under applicable law.
19. Our Responsibility to You
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted. UK consumer terms that attempt to exclude responsibility for matters such as faulty or misdescribed goods can be unenforceable.
Where you are purchasing as a consumer, we are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, losses caused by circumstances for which we are not legally responsible, or business losses arising from a product purchased solely for private consumer use.
20. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We are not responsible for a failure or delay in performing an obligation where that failure or delay is caused by an event outside our reasonable control.
Where such an event materially affects an order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and will contact you where appropriate.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our website, products, business practices or applicable requirements.
The version displayed on this page when you place an order will normally apply to that order.
Any material changes will apply prospectively and will not remove rights that have already arisen under an existing contract.
22. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
23. No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean that we have waived our right to enforce it later.
24. Governing Law
These Terms and purchases made through our website are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms prevents you from relying on mandatory rights available to you or bringing proceedings in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.
