Refund policy

At SG Wrought Iron, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If something is not right, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

This policy applies to orders placed through our website and is in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

30-Day Returns

For standard, non-customised products, we offer a 30-day return period from the date you receive your order.

To request a return, please contact us at sgworkshopltd@gmail.com and provide your order number, the product you wish to return and the reason for the return.

Items returned under our 30-day returns policy should be unused, uninstalled and in a resalable condition, with the original packaging where reasonably possible.

Please do not send an item back before contacting us. Once your return has been accepted, we will provide the appropriate return instructions.

This retains the return-request process used on the original SG website, where customers supplied their order details, product information and reason for return before sending goods back.

Your Right to Cancel an Online Order

For most standard products purchased online, UK consumers have the right to cancel their order within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason. After notifying us of the cancellation, you have a further 14 days to return the goods.

You may inspect the product as you reasonably would before purchasing it in a shop. If the product has been used, installed, damaged or handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it, we may make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by law.

Made-to-Measure, Cut-to-Size & Custom Products

Products that are made to your measurements, cut to a length requested by you, altered to your specification, personalised or otherwise specially made for your order cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind.

This does not affect your statutory rights if a custom or made-to-measure product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described. UK distance-selling rules specifically exempt personalised and custom-made goods from the standard change-of-mind cancellation requirement.

Please check all measurements, product options and specifications carefully before ordering a made-to-measure or cut-to-size item.

Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order when it arrives. If an item is damaged, faulty, defective or different from what you ordered, contact us as soon as possible at sgworkshopltd@gmail.com.

Please include:

• Your order number
• The product concerned
• A description of the issue
• Clear photographs of the product and packaging where applicable

We will review the issue and advise you on the appropriate next step.

Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy. Goods that are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose are protected under UK consumer law.

Return Shipping Costs

For an eligible change-of-mind return, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods safely to us.

If the product is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable return costs as appropriate.

Because some SG Wrought Iron products are long, heavy or oversized, please contact us before arranging your own return courier.

Refunds

Once your return has been received and inspected, we will confirm whether your refund has been approved.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

For returns made under your statutory cancellation rights, refunds will be processed within the legally required timeframe. Where you paid for standard delivery, the standard outbound delivery charge will also be refunded. If you chose a more expensive delivery service, we are only required to refund the equivalent cost of standard delivery.

Please allow additional time for your bank or card provider to process the refund after it has been issued.

Exchanges

If you would like a different standard product, size or option, please contact us first.

Where appropriate, the simplest process may be to return the original eligible item and place a new order for the required product.

Made-to-measure, cut-to-size and custom products cannot normally be exchanged because they have been prepared specifically to your requirements.

Sale Items

Products purchased in a sale retain the same statutory consumer rights as full-price products.

Normal return conditions still apply, including the restrictions relating to made-to-measure, personalised and cut-to-size products.
